Tools 12, CAP 13

In what was the first test of a young season YOUR Tools came up just short in a heartbreaker against the Left Fielders from CAP.

The game was decided by one run, but YOUR Tools gave CAP no less than 5 runs on the field and base running errors. However, to say that we beat ourselves, is not entirely true. We made mistakes, they did not. They were the winners. I still think we are the better team, and we will prove it the next time we play them. It served as a wake up call for us all.

There were a number of positives so lets focus on them. After being incapable of scoring in the first inning (5 hits and 1 run), the Tools were able to put runs on the board in subsequent innings. Thurman made up for a blunder in Left Field by hitting a 3 run shot in the third. Daly continued her hot hitting with 2 Triples to Right and had an astounding 4 RBIs. The Murch continued his tear with 3 hits. However, that lowered his average to an incredible .900.

We have one more game against CAP. If CAP loses before we play them again (assuming we win our games), then we will need to beat them to advance to the playoffs. If CAP does not lose before we meet, and we beat them, we will have to beat them again to secure a spot in the playoffs (of course, all of that hinges on the assumption that we will win all of our games). We have painted ourselves into a corner, but like cats, YOUR Capitalist Tools are most dangerous when we are cornered and we are in a must win situation for the rest of the season.

2009 Season

All posts are now referring to the 2009 season. YOUR Capitalist Tools had a great season in 2008, but were cut down in the playoffs by the Heritage Supply Sliders with a Home Run by Adam Salmon. We must now focus on the present instead of dwelling on the past.
